The weaving place at the Vancouver Art Gallery opening November 7, 20008
My first show at a major cultural institution! This interactive installation experiments with the language of the Museum and the architectural ambiance of the boutique to create an environment for participants to engage in collective productive play. Nearly 1000 visitors have learned basic weaving and added to patchwork woolen blankets which will be given out to protect people from the coldest Canadian winter months.

Google photo slideshow (because I am so diffused into the cloud now...) of the blankets, completed in February 2009 and, through consensual decision-making by the weavers, donated to a local women's shelter in Vancouver. Thank you Dora Varga Lences for the photos
